Job Description

As an Account Receivable/ Account Payable Intern at Jacobs Douwe Egberts you will be integrated in the Belgium Accounting Team and become part of the team responsible for the account receivable and payable for our coffee & tea brands in Belgium. This will give you the insights on the complete flow from ordering our coffee to payment is received. Because everyone deserves the cup of coffee or tea they love!

Your main responsibilities will be divided in two main buckets:

Account receivable

  • Researches and resolves of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
  • Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
  • Work on process optimization to ensure efficiency in the collection process by taking part of a project implementation build with robotics
  • Work on master data cleaning & maintenance
  • You will work closely together with the other internal departments like Sales, Trade Marketing & Supply chain, both on our retail business as well as in our B2B. Next to this you will also be exposed to international cooperation with other MSU and central office.
  • Assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.

Account payable

  • Work on improving the current zero touch rate of our account payable process. This include doing root cause analysis to identify issues and propose corrective and preventive actions
  • Be in charge of improving the adoption rate of our invoice submission solution towards our vendors
  • Work on improving our Account payable and therefore cash flow position by reviewing and identifying opportunities
  • Work on master data cleaning & maintenance

Qualifications

  • You are an enthusiastic student with a matching educational business background, and preferably a finance passionate.
  • You are a team player with strong communication & analytical skills
  • You work pro-actively, take ownership of your own projects and deadlines, and are result driven
  • You are passionate about the coffee & tea business, interested in different perspectives of the business.
  • You are Dutch or French speaking and fluent in English
  • You’re available for at least 3 months starting in September/October
